The WPPA’s 75th Anniversary Convention will be held May 19-21, 2007 at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells, one of the greatest vacation destinations in the United States.
The WPPA was formed in 1932 and its first convention was held in Racine. We have accomplished a lot since then, becoming Wisconsin’s largest law enforcement group and a prominent labor organization for public employees.
Our convention planning committee is busy working to put together an extraordinary event to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the WPPA. A complete agenda and registration materials will be mailed out to local presidents the first week of March, and will be published in the April issue of the Wisconsin Police Journal.
Why should you attend?
We encourage all WPPA members to attend the annual convention each year. You do not have to be a member of your local association’s board of directors to attend. Remember – the WPPA is YOUR association! The annual convention is designed to give you the tools necessary to make your local association a more productive and effective organization.
In the past, our conventions have hosted seminars and speakers on a wide variety of topics, including collective bargaining, critical incidents, and how to form local political action committees.
If you are a member of the WPPA, plan now to attend the 75th Anniversary Convention, and:
- Network with your fellow WPPA members.
- Attend general sessions for legislative and legal updates.
- Attend presentations about the history and future of law enforcement.
- Find out what your State Association does for you.
- Voice your opinions and become involved.
- Support your Association!
Registration packets will be mailed to local presidents the first week of March. Also, information will be posted on the WPPA website the first week of March and published in the April issue of the Wisconsin Police Journal.
