WPPA Executive Director Appears on "Sly in the Morning"

On July 6, WPPA Executive Director Jim Palmer appeared on "Sly in the Morning," a south central Wisconsin radio program on 1670 AM WTDY in Madison. In his interview with the show's host, John "Sly" Sylvester, Palmer discussed the efforts of the Madison Metro Transit System employees to dump their current union, the Teamsters, in order to join the civilian division of the WPPA. Palmer also defended the transit employees against an attack by a recent Wisconsin State Journal editorial which criticized them for seeking a more aggressive union when they should be making contract concessions to the city. Palmer explained how the Teamsters have denied their members any role in the bargaining process, and how the WPPA would do a better job.
