MADISON–The Wisconsin Professional Police Association (WPPA) announced today its endorsement of Fred Clark in his campaign to represent the 14th State Senate District. The WPPA’s board of directors, which is comprised of active law enforcement officers from all across the state, overwhelmingly chose to support Clark after closely evaluating his record against that of the incumbent, Luther Olsen.
“Despite having supported Luther Olsen in the past, it is clear that he has abandoned public safety and those who provide it,” said WPPA Executive Director, Jim Palmer. “Fred Clark has fought to ensure that law enforcement officers have the resources they need to keep us all safe. By contrast, Luther Olsen recently voted to cut state funding for police services at a time when assaults on officers are increasing at an alarming rate. Given this stark comparison, the choice was clear. Fred Clark can be counted on to do the right thing and to fight to protect the dedicated men and women who risk their lives every day.”
With over 11,000 members from nearly 400 local association affiliates, the WPPA is the state’s largest law enforcement group.
