The WPPA Endorses Judge Ziegler for Supreme Court

MADISON – The Wisconsin Professional Police Association (WPPA) announced today its endorsement of Washington County Circuit Court Judge Annette Ziegler in her bid for the Supreme Court. The WPPA made its endorsement after soliciting the input of its membership and interviewing the candidates. The upcoming February 20 primary election and April 3 general election will decide who will fill the vacancy on the Court created with the retirement of Justice Jon Wilcox.

“While this election features some very qualified candidates, Judge Ziegler’s knowledge of the law is second to none,” said WPPA President Dennis LeCaptain. “Judge Ziegler is the only candidate with experience as a state and federal prosecutor, the only candidate to have served as a judge, and the only candidate that fully appreciates the challenges confronting Wisconsin’s law enforcement community. What’s more is that her judicial experience has given her expertise in all areas of the law, and we are confident that Judge Ziegler can hit the ground running from day one. No other candidate can say that.”

Established in 1932, the WPPA now advocates on behalf of nearly 11,000 active and retired members, and is widely recognized as the premier law enforcement group in Wisconsin.
