The WPPA’s 2024 Legislative Report Card & State Election Endorsements

The WPPA’s 2024 Legislative Report Card

& Election Endorsements

(MADISON, Wis.) – On October 16, the WPPA released its biennial report card summarizing the actions taken on the legislative proposals for which the organization took a position either for or against during the 2023-24 session of the state legislature. The most cumulative of its kind in the country, the WPPA report card scores legislative actions on every bill throughout each stage of the lawmaking process and awards and deducts points to legislators accordingly. The WPPA also issued its endorsements of candidates running for public office on November 5. The organization’s governing board of rank-and-file law enforcement officers used the report card, along with the candidates’ responses to a questionnaire, to determine which individuals will best support the interests of Wisconsin’s law enforcement community.

WPPA Legislators of the Year

In recognition for earning the highest legislative report card scores in the 2023-2024 session, Senator Jesse James (R-Altoona) and State Representative Bob Donovan (R- Greenfield) have been named the WPPA’s Legislators of the Year.
