WPPA provides two service models for those public safety employees groups that lack binding arbitration:
A. Extended Service Retainer provides:
- Bargaining Assistance: Although we can’t sit at the bargaining table, WPPA will assist in gathering of comparable data and consult on negotiation strategies for those groups that retain collective bargaining rights.
- Discipline Representation: WPPA will assist in matters relating to the potential discipline of any member that could impact the member’s employment status and/or compensation.
- Officer-Involved Critical Incidents: WPPA will assist any member that constitutes an “Involved Officer” during investigations into any Officer-Involved Critical Incident. WPPA representation continues until such time as a District Attorney—or his/her designee—determines whether there is basis to prosecute such “Involved Officer.”
B. Discipline-Only Retainer provides:
- Discipline Representation: WPPA will assist in matters relating to the potential discipline of any member that could impact the member’s employment status and/or compensation.
